Born in Bamako, Mali, in 1993, Carmen Yahchouchy has been in love with photography for as long as she can remember. After resettling in Lebanon in 2011, she enrolled at Notre Dame university - Louaize (NDU) to develop her abilities, she has delved into some society's most delicate issues. Yahchouchi has followed that advice in numerous ways, including her participation in "Mediterranea", a 2014 workshop led by famous Italian photographer Giulio Rimondi.

Sensitive by nature and passionate about sociology, she ventures into the intimate spaces of human experience, propelling the spectator into the unique universe of each of her subjects. As she expands her photographic repertoire and builds her own personal style, her chief inspiration derives from Nan Goldin and Sophie Calle.

In september 2015, Yahchouchi won the fourth edition of the Byblos Bank Award for photography at BEIRUT ART FAIR. In the very same month, her work "Vulnerable Visits" appeared at Raw Talents, a collective exhibition held at Beirut's Art Factum gallery. She exhibited in 2016 a solo show “Beyond Sacrifice” at Byblos Bank Headquarters, after this she worked with the photographer Halida Boughriet exhibiting in a group show “New World” for Beirut Art Fair 2016. Carmen won a grant with AFAC and Magnum Foundation in 2016 that will end in March 2017.
